BuffNet lobby

A public chat where anyone on Reticulum can meet FrameBuff.

PUBLIC. Everything you write in the lobby can be read by anyone there. Do not post private details or your location.

Not open yet. It runs in testing only. The address will be posted on this page when it opens.

Channels

  • help: getting FrameBuff working.
  • hardware: BuffLink, radios and antennas.
  • general: everything else.

How to join

  1. Install any Reticulum messaging app: Sideband, MeshChat or Nomad Network.
  2. Start a conversation with the lobby's address. It announces as "BuffNet Lobby (PUBLIC)".
  3. Send any message. The lobby replies with a welcome. That first message is not posted.
  4. Send /join help, /join hardware or /join general, then just type.

Commands

  • /channels: list the channels.
  • /who: who is in your channel.
  • /nick name: pick the name others see.
  • /leave: leave your channel.
  • /forget: leave and erase your details from the lobby.
  • /help: the full list.

What you get

Chat, and only chat. Guests get no access to anyone's devices, files or rings. To become a real contact, install FrameBuff and meet in person.

You appear as guest- and a code, and others do not see your address unless you choose to show it. Your address and chosen name are kept until 30 days after you last wrote. Chat text is never written to disk, and never used to train AI.
