BuffNet

BuffNet

One network that uses whatever link is available, best first.

Your phone and computer can talk to the people you know even with no internet, by passing small encrypted messages from device to device, by radio if they have to. That is a mesh.

No company runs it and no server holds your identity. Devices that relay a message cannot read it.

BuffNet is built on Reticulum, an encrypted mesh network stack made by others. FrameBuff adds trust rings, a post-quantum layer, secure-chip keys, the public lobby and GPU sharing on top. See Credits.

  • Link levels: internet, HaLow, LoRa, analog.
  • Trust rings: who can reach you, and who you relay for.
  • Privacy: what is hidden, and what cannot be.

What runs over it

Chat, calls, questions to your own AI, and short commands to your machines. Bulk files, images and video stay on fast links.

Good neighbours

FrameBuff traffic prefers FrameBuff devices. Public Reticulum nodes carry only small traffic and emergencies, and never heavy traffic over public radio.

The network's own domain is buffnet.online.
